Last Saturday night, a limo pulled up to the front of the Castro Theatre in San Francisco for the 2009 GAYVN Awards. As flashbulbs popped, out stepped none other than the evening's host, comedian and musician Margaret Cho, who was escorted by Kink.com CEO Peter Acworth on one arm, and our very own Princess Donna, director of PublicDisgrace.com and WiredPussy.com, on the other. The star-studded affair was also attended by supermodel and actress Janice Dickinson and Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty regular Alec Mapa. But the man of the evening was definitely Van Darkholme, director of BoundGods.com and Kink.com's newest site NakedKombat.com, scheduled to go live next Wednesday, April 8th!

Laura Antoniou is the author of a series of BDSM classics known collectively as "The Marketplace." The world she created is an insular, secretive society of SM initiates regulated by a strict hierarchy. Its premise is in many ways similar to what Kink.com is trying to archive with TheUpperFloor.com, so her work was of particular inspiration to both Kink.com CEO Peter Acworth and TheTrainingOfO.com director James Mogul, as they were beginning to create much of the detail and back-story for the new site. It seemed a natural step, therefore, to invite Ms. Antoniou to the Armory to get her firsthand input. Not only did she have fruitful discussions with both Peter and James, but she was also the invited guest of honor at the TheUpperFloor.com's initial test shoot, The First Supper. Ms. Antoniou, an enthusiastic and experienced player, naturally felt right at home.

While some of our regular viewers may be aware of the Armory's two cats, Rudy and La La, few have probably heard of the building's other pair of four-legged mascots; Tug, an English Bulldog bitch, and Ace, a French Bulldog stud. These two are the best of friends — so friendly, in fact, that they openly hump each other every chance they get. Needless to say, this dynamic duo have clearly picked up on what we do here.
