Yesterday morning, a landmark decision was made by the California Supreme Court affirming the right for same-sex couples to marry. As soon as Kink.com employees heard the news, they marched up to the Armory's roof to raise the rainbow flags in honor of the historic ruling. While the victory might not necessarily affect all of Kink.com's employees personally, everyone can agree that any progress made in the fight for social equality is cause for celebration.

I feel that this is a great thing for California. I do take a small note for Vince in that Massachusetts has had same sex marriage on the books for I believe a couple years now but at the same time this is a great step forward for everyone affected.
I personally am not affected directly by I do believe that it is a necessary step as our country grows with the changes in lifestyles.

As noted in the above comment it is legal in the state of Massachsuetts for same sex marriage. This is a huge step forward for us all. The law in Massachusetts only allows the couple to be legally recognized if their home state also support or allows same sex marriage.

I personally thinks its great that it is now recoginzed in several states that what sex we are shouldn't control or determine what makes us happy.

A great feeling that I can get married here in Massachusetts and then move to California if I choose and have the same rights. Now we just need the rest of these United States to recognize that you can't control or change what makes someone happy.

I am straight and happily married, but I am in full support of gay marriages. Hopefully California will lead the way.

Obviously or perhaps not obviously, I am ECSTATIC over the ruling. My only real worry is that the impending legislation this fall will undue everything we've strived for. I can only hope that we will be able to fight it off and that this will be the beginning of greater support for what were once thought as abnormal lovestyle choices. We all deserve to love and live with whom we choose.

Me being raised up in the typical “Republican Conservative Family” I Find myself having issues with this, but I don’t know why. If I look at this from a Christian religious aspect then I would have to say that same sex marriage, and same sex, sex is wrong. On the other hand as a registered “libertarian” I truly believe in the rights of the individual. If a person partakes in something I wouldn’t partake in, it doesn’t automatically make it wrong, just wrong for me personally. Everyone has to make A choice for themselves based on their own beliefs.
In an attempt not to belittle the efforts of the “Gay Community .” I understand the difficulties you must face on a day to day bases. Me personally, I don’t realize what it’s like to be GAY, but I am able to understand that being gay is not a choice, it’s simply who you are. Forgive my crude Symbolism, but it’s kind of like a fetish. I have a female foot fetish. I can offer no reason , no explanation. I only know I like the way they look, and the way they feel. I also have a great attraction to the female body. I have not the ability to provide a reason except, that’s what turns me on.

I welcome responses.

The gay rights movement had made a better way for all people in the kink community with out them leading the way in the fight against far right attacks on our constitution I can't even imagine where we might be right now.
As a person who was raised in a christian setting and who is not one currently I can say that I am very proud of this community.

I can say that I fully support this and hope that things continue down this road.

I was a bit stunned when a female friend of mine kinda went bonkers on her transgendered cousin (who I had just met). But, after the conversation started for a bit, I found out her cousin was escorting, so I think that might have been the main reason she was disturbed.

I suspect that, when you live in the state I live in, you probably don't wanna be escorting. Relocation might be a good idea. I think there are _way_ more tolerantant places for that job.

Living in a country myself that has same sex marriage for several years legislated now, it does not strike me anymore as being a major event. For europeans it is almost like a normal thing. And being straight myself and happily married in europe I never was personally affected. Nevertheless I am happy for you all, to have reached this milestone. Besides there is nowhere to be found in the bible or the koran that God condamnes those of homosexual nature. He would not have created homosexual men and women and then condamn them. Why should two men or two women not be able to bond, the way a man and a woman can.

Wonderful news! And congrats to Vince and whoever else is now planning a wedding!

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I'm against gay marriage. I enjoy watching lesbians getting it on, but I don't think they should get married. Marriage is about family (something that can't be achieved naturally by gay couples). Allowing gay couples to co-habitate is one thing. Having a state facilitate something that has always been reserved for a man and woman to the same sexes is quite another.

So hell no! I respect gays and lesbians, but the movement has gone too far. Children need one mother and one father to provide a well-balanced upbringing. If your not planning to have kids, why in the hell do you want to get married? Only for your own selfish reasons. File joint returns, visit loved ones at hospital, etc. Those are no reasons to wed.
