Get that boss of yours off his . . to go and tell them upstairs! Surely they dont want a leak any more than you. Think of what its doing to their floors!

What terrible conditions to work in! It sounds like there is a break in the drainpipe somewhere coming from the toilets on the upper hotel floors. The leak may be in the ceiling and relatively easy to get to, or it may be in the wall somewhere on an upper floor and very difficult to get to. Either way, as old as that building probably is, all the plumbing needs to be replaced and that is very expensive and time consuming.
One thing to worry about is that the building inspector may declare the entire building as uninhabitable and you will get about as much time to pull out as if the building were on fire. You may want to develop a contingency plan to move everything to the armory, ready or not, on a moment’s notice.
You may also want to rip out some ceiling and see if two pipe sections have pulled apart and can be reattached as a temporary fix. Maybe a pipe hanger came loose. Worth a try.
